There
are many sections that educators and parents sectors need to prepare students
to get a job in the culturally diverse, technologically complex and economically
competitive work, when revolutionary change in technology. Regarding this
statement, as an educator point of view of Myanmar student, I have three thins
which to have change the perspective of administration of education in customer
law or decision making that related to
government and curriculum, to have change of teacher behavior and teaching
method, and to have change of students themselves.
As
for the change of the perspective of government in education and curriculum, I
would like to express in honesty of present situation of education in Myanmar.
My country, Myanmar now I have heard the rumor information that government will
have plan to change or develop the education sector and to invest much money in
education. That plan would be address that all young people must have access of
free basic education and higher education would be international level.
However, that is a draft and a rumor. In reality, education in my country is
very confused to understand. And also there is very less of freedom of teachers
decision making in their sectors even in making questioning.
As for my educator point of view, the
government should have clear customary law and effective curriculum that
related to what really suitable for which level of student are. For instance, a
student who studies of computer sciences in the university, they might use and
learn with computer but in reality of situation, the students just learn
lecture. For this reason even the students graduated with computer sciences,
they cannot use computer in real life.
Therefore, it is very requiring to change the perception in education in
the future, it is a big part to have student have job in global marketplace.
The
second one would be the change of instructors or teachers’ quality, ability and
character in the future even in the present. Regarding Myanmar outlook,
teachers or instructors are a very respectful and inspiring person. Even though
the law and curriculum are very affective for all section of education, if
teachers are very poor in characteristic, students would not learn any more and
the students would not get a beautiful future. Teacher should be inspire and
should be skillful and should love in teaching and love in learning because as
a saying ‘a good teacher should be a good learner’. On the other hand
instructors should fight for all case that related to section that he or she
is. As an educator say “Human being could not follow the changing of the
world”. According to this saying, as for my educator point of view, teachers or
instructors could not teach all changes in the world to students but teachers
should be in mindful of good teaching in full concept to students.
The
third one would be plan the change of students themselves. In my opinion it is
very important that students themselves have to be active learners and happy in
learning education. Even there is effective system, good instructors they meet,
if he or she is very bored in learning new thing or new concept that related to
his or her life, he or she cannot find a job or cannot have a beautiful future yet
not be a good leader in the future. Consequently, to involve in the
revolutionary changes in technology, students or young people should keep in
mind of the concept that instructors mention in detail and should learn more
new concepts of the changes.
To
address the second question that what has been done by my country in each
context is very challenging. As I stated above, my country Myanmar is a
developing country that in the process of reform almost all sectors including
educational sector. According to my understanding of my country, I am very
happy to hear the news that new government very focus on education and reform education
system. For example, it would be include ethnic dialect or literature as a
subject in curriculum. As an educator view, I could say that Myanmar government
has done nothing besides having plan because all level is the same with in the
past system we have seen. However, nongovernment organization like Kantkaw
Education Centre in Yangon has done some for student who love to study higher education
or prepare for study abroad and private sector has done a few for rich people
or urban students to have a good education with make them much rich. But there
is not much chance for rural students to have as possible opportunity to study
higher education as students in city.
In
conclusion, I would like to restate that I would prefer that Myanmar has planed
to change or to improve in education even there has not done before. And also I
would be happy for a few students who can study higher education and have a
good access of education from different nongovernment organizations and private
schools. That all are hopefulness for the leader of future and that engage in
my three plans to encourage students to get education opportunities and job opportunities
to fulfill their future and to fight for the revolutionary change in
technology.
